Trade – Export by mail to Brazil:
Brazilians are able to import and receive products by mail. This service allows them to buy products from anywhere in the world via the Internet, catalogs or any other means and have this product delivered by mail to their hands
The operation is very simple:
When postal package arrives in Brazil, it is handed to Customs (Brazilian Federal Revenue Service) that will make the customs clearance (survey and application or exemption of Import Tax). Orders free of Import Duty are immediately delivered by postal service. For shipments taxed, a Notice of Arrival at destination is delivered, requesting their presence at one of the postal agencies, for payment of tax and to pick up the package.
Postal items up to $ 500.00 (five hundred U.S. dollars): have their Import Tax paid at receiving postal agency after Notice of Arrival is received.
Postal items above$ 500.00 (five hundred U.S. dollars): have their Import Tax paid at any Bank of Brazil agency after Notice of Arrival is received.
Simple tax (Decree No 156 of 24.06.1999 - Ministry of Finance) which establishes the following rules:
Goods valued up to U.S. $ 3,000.00 (three thousand U.S. dollars) pay import tax of 60% over the customs value of goods, supported by tax documents issued in the country of origin.
Tax will be calculated based on the sum of the value of goods included, plus the shipping cost (postage) and insurance for that transport (postal insurance, if any).
